BAKABU in the Brunngasse
They continue their search. “A streetcar used to run here,” Lups tells his friends as they walk through Brunngasse. “Can’t it come back?” pants Charlie Gru. “I’m so tired. The journey here was long, and all the spiders and ears and…” “Come on, Charlie Gru,” says Bakabu. “We’ve already found so much of the Wolf Song. Not long now and we can…” “Hey!” croaks Mimi Lou, interrupting. “What’s that? Water is coming out of the ground! I have to jump over there.” “No,” calls Lups. “You’ll get all wet.” “I don’t mind,” says Mimi Lou. “It’s warm today… and I’m a firecracker frog and frogs love water.”
Lups explains that his ancestor Lupauline was there when the first fountain in the city was built. “It was very important for the people to get fresh water. But today, there’s no proper fountain here anymore.” Mimi Lou looks at the small fountains spouting from the ground. “Wait,” she suddenly calls. “That’s… that’s… a rhythm!”
The others come over – it’s true. They quickly note the rhythm of the dancing water… it matches the song they’re looking for. Another piece of the puzzle.
